Some previous postings indicate 1938 chief had no "oil" embossed on oil tank cap.
WAs there a hole in the top?
What did the bottom of the cap look like?
Going thru an assortment of original caps I have gas caps with the acorn size vent assembly with holes in the cap and some with similar vent assembly but no holes in the top.Are these no top hole type earlier or later style gas caps?
