Are all the rubber lines that come off a '68 shovel oil tank the same size (3/8" ID)? I have 2 parts books ('59-'68 and '61-'71) that show the vent line from the top of the tank to be 1/4" ID by 1/2" OD. This would seem to be impossible as the line connects to the plastic "T" fitting that connects the vent line with the hose that comes over from the chain case, and that fitting has a barb on it that only accepts a hose that is 3/8" ID. I found smaller nipple (63578-52) that's described as an oil line and gas line fitting, and it takes a 5/16" ID hose.
Please disregard. I found out the answer and the reason for the smaller vent line. Had to do with when they retrofitted a vent line from the chain case in mid to late '65.
