The tanks are in good shape and upon stripping the paint and bondo from the area I discovered the 'threaded' holes brazed over. Inspecting the inserts through the top of the tank; the rear is split. It is possible the tank leaked as a result and a decision was made to weld them shut? The tank is in good shape other than the area around these shift gate mount holes.
Is there a vendor available to purchase these inserts for that type of repair? OR is it feasible to drill out the braze and retap??
