  • 45 oil slinger

I never done a 45 bottom end, got flywheels true new sprocket side race and new rod set. I assembled the bottom end with 0.075'' end play thrust washers and found zero end play so after some investigating I realized the snap rings were the problem. I left the sprocket side snap ring off and used 0.090'' end play thrust washers to get the recommended 0.012'' end play, All good, now I had to spin down the sprocket side spacer and slinger to be able to get the snap ring in I believe this is due to a slightly longer crank pin. The slinger is a bit loose which I think should be tight in the race to keep it from spinning on the snap ring or am I wrong?
Also its odd that HD didn't put that washer with the tab on in the sprocket side like they did on the pinion side. I think thats a hell of an idea to keep the spacer from spinning in the race.
    Thanks
