  • Blue Ridge 2021 Road Run

This was my first Road Run and I took my "new to me" 1946 Indian Chief; and due to some sprinkles (OK, so it was really heavy rain) I was only able to take a few pictures. So, enjoy the few I took. I am not going to add photos of "The Wheels Through Time" museum, because there are better photos out there than the ones I took. They may not be in order... oh well...

Thanks for sharing. Definitely looks like more then a few sprinkles.Looks like it didn't impact the turnout too much.

I would say that MOST guys went even if it was raining. I rode the 166 mile loop the first day, then on the 2nd day I left because the sky "looked" like it was going to clear up. I got 20 miles out and by that time I was drenched like a drowned rat and my goggles would NOT stop fogging up even with spit in them. I didn't wear my rain suit the 2nd day but I did on the first day. Go figure... anyway, I was completely soaked to the skin, so I turned around and went back to the hotel. By the time I got to the hotel, the sky was breaking up, the road was dry. Oh well... live and learn. I really didn't want to ride my Indian in that kind of rain at all because I only had about 350 miles of experience on it at that time too! The 3rd day I rode with a friend from Wisconsin in a car.

I SHOULD'VE mentioned that I had a great time at this Road Run even with the weather the way it was. The Blue Ridge Chapter did a GREAT JOB putting this together. Congratulations to them!!

Thanks for posting Jim. At least you got a lot more pics than the 3 we took which aren't worth posting. We planned on getting some great pics on this run but taking pics took a back seat due to soggy conditions. The routes were awesome, hotel room awesome, food was incredible, so yea, hats off to the Blue Ridge folks for a fine event. That was quite an experience in tough conditions for your first road run but you came through it well with a good attitude which wasn't easy! We enjoyed ourselves as well. I did find this one pic on phone from Tuesday evening when the skies cleared bright and sunny so we detrailered and headed up alone on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a great DRY ride! Got back after dark.
