Strut service

I’m planning on doing a strut service since I can’t recall when I last did it. I have the #s that the service manual spells out but I’m wondering if you sidecar operators have been tweaking them. I’m talking about the oil weight you use as well as the quantity. Or do you run the books #s?
This would be for a stock 64 panhead. Thanks in advance.
