A nice note from Winston below. They're hopeing for a few Indians to come out to the event and support lecture. April 23, 7pm -Larz Anderson MOT, Brookline MA. Looks like fun. Nice estate & gardens to walk around on. Also note they have a virtual QuickTime VR museum on-line. Some nice cars. Take a look. Maybe drop Winston a note to let them know your coming.
Mr. Edwards:
I got your name and e-mail from the Curator here at the Museum of
Transportation (Brookline, MA), Amy Friend, who thought you might be
able to help us get the word out on an event we're having here at the
Museum on April 23rd. It's Indian Motocycle Night, and we're trying to
make sure there are a few nice examples sitting in the parking lot for
the night of the event, as well as many interested audience members.
The event is part of the George W. Roberts Lecture Series, and the
evening's presenter is Mr. Malcolm Houck. Mr. Houck is a collector and
restorer of Indian bikes, and writes a column for The Motorcyclist's
POST called "Civilizing the Old Indian". The Museum just recently opened
a new exhibit called "New England Paves the Way" highlighting the early
days of the transportation industry in New England -- which, of course,
includes the Indian Motocycle. Mr. Houck will talk about the old factory
in Springfield, the old bikes, and his latest restoration project.
The Museum will re-open for the event at 7:00pm on April 23, 2002. The
presentation will begin at 7:30pm. Admission is $5 for Museum members
and $7 for non-members. Refreshments will be available.
I hope you can help us. Thanks in advance.
