Hi there,
I'm getting a 83 Shovelhead sidecar rig back on the road and need some help. I have been looking for a brake drum/shell for a LE/CLE sidecar. That came on a 1983 HD sidecar with the big cast wheel part number: 86999-79. There is an earlier brake drum that will work on my axle HD part number: 87657-76. off a 1976 to 1979. These brake drums are scarce as rocking horse, you know what. The next step if I can't find one of these drums is to go to the earlier axle, backing plate, and brake drum. The Harley 1941 to 1984 parts catalogue is not a lot of help on the earlier parts. I could really use some information from someone that's played around with these sidecar barkes. Or better yet someone that has a brake drum they would part with.
