Hi All,
I'm currently rebuilding my 38 Chief (Otto Links old bike). Now that I have it stripped down I've discovered it has recessed heads and pistons that protrude past the cylinder deck. It also had dual spring's on the valves like the the later Bonneville's. I'm assuming these are 38 Daytona parts? Whilst the heads have a square recess the crowns of the pistons are bevelled. The pistons are oversized so I'm not certain they are the same as the originals. My primary interest for this post is to identify what I have here and, probably more importantly, determine if I can source replacement pistons (0.040" over). Any information or suggestions in regards to these questions will be greatly appreciated.
