Pete Thiakos
Charles Pete Thiakos Jr., 89, of Geneseo, Illinois, passed away January 9, 2023, with family by his side, in the Illinois Veteran's Home in LaSalle, Illinois.
Cremation rites have been accorded as Pete chose to donate his remains to science. A celebration of Life will be at a later date.
Pete was born in Sterling, Illinois on September 11, 1933 to Charles and Mamie (Eades) Thiakos. He was a talented machinist right out of high school. He served with the United States Army from 1951-1955. He continued his career as an accomplished Machinist and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal.
He enjoyed racing, riding, collecting and repairing motorcycles, farming, family and repair work. He and his wife, Judy, were members of several motorcycle clubs.
Pete is survived by his wife Judith (VanDamme) Thiakos, 3 children, daughters, Lori Reyes and Tina Thiakos, son, Terry Thiakos, also 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
