    During the discussions about the birth of H.D. and the H.D. motorcycle serial #1 someone, somewhere made comment with regard to an unknown German gentleman that assisted the founding fathers in their endeavours. Maybe I have the answer.
    While in Milwaukee for the 100th I purchased Jean Davidson's book "Growing Up Harley-Davidson" and on pages 36-37 she mentions a German born mechanic EMIL KROEGER who was a good friend and mentor to them.
    Whoever was asking is this the name you were seeking?

    "one Emil Kroeger (or Kruger)"
