  • New tire help for 41 Scout

I blew my rear tire 4.00 x18.00 Pirelli. I am looking to buy a new front and rear now but would like to go a bit wider/fatter since I have the room. Any advice? I want to keep the vintage look nothing modern.

    White walls?
    raised while letters?

Replace them with 4.50 x 18 Coker Diamonds they are a good ride and have plenty of grip.
I have them on my Scout Bobber and they look fantastic.

Thank you for the reply and great looking bike. It looks like you have a speedo mounted on the bars but not connected to the front wheel? I am trying to figure out a plan for a Corbin I bought.

Actually, don't run a speedo only a tachometer and use the rev's to guage speed.
Mostly ride with other bikes and they will set and maintain the speed so have good idea.
Have a look at how they ran the speedo on the Sport Scout, similar setup to the Chief if I remember correctly

It was licensed this way here without a speedo and as a period bobber.
I highly recommend the Cokers, I am on my second rear, front is about 30% worn. Would have covered 5000-6000km with the rear tire in 3 years.

They just expensive here in Australia. $250 US each without fitting, they are better priced in the US but postage and import tax is the issue here.

          Thanks and again nice bike....

Do you run 4.5 x18 on both from and rear?

That's correct run the 4.5 x 18 front and rear.
            Makes the scout handle beautifully.

            Good luck.

I too run the Cokers on my 1940SS and have no issues with them.
