  • 1916 Indian TT racer? ID help needed.

    Hello,
I am thinking about buying this Indian little twin racer, but I am trying to find some information about this model since it looks a bit different to any I’ve seen before.
There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum so I'll try my luck here.
I wonder if anyone have seen anything like this before, or have any clues, is it an early Indian TT model?

The bike is an export sold in UK, engine serial points to 1916, and imported to Sweden in 1918 (which we have papers on)
The frame top tube sits very low under the seat.
Don’t know if the tank is original, it certainly has new decals. Caps are Indian.
Control linkage mounting is the steering head tube looks unused.
It does not have the original magneto.
We don’t know if the kicker is mounted later.
It has a forward mounted shifter which looks original. There is an image in Jerry Hatfields ”Indian photographic history” of a racer in 1921 with similar looking frame but with a single cylinder PP engine, also with the shifter mounted forward.
Don’t know if the handle bars are original.

Appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks
    Martin
