  • Indian Seat Pan ID

I have one long nose Indian Seat Pan with metal guards on the sides that attach to bolt on the edge of the pan underneath. Anyone know what year this fit or was it a factory add on? Thanks! TJ

1946-48 chief. Later 50-53 chief had the studs or just the holes as time went on but no more guards with possible exception of police use. Marty

I seen a set of those guards sell for $140 on e-bay.

I have the guards thank you for offering. I have an early pan that I replaced the studs on. They were 20 threads per inch. That checks out.
I am rebuilding the studs on this 46 Indian Seat Pan, can anyone verify that all the studs including the guard studs were 20 threads per inch?
Just a note of interest, the foam under the leather was original and actually had a part number on it with the year, 46. Good dense stuff.
