    Dear AMCA Members;

    All event planning is finalized for our Texas National Road Run in The High Hills of The Texas Hill Country for Spring 2014. The 2014 Texas National Road Run will be held again in Kerrville, TX. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this part of Texas, please allow me to tease you a bit here.

    Kerrville is located just Northwest of San Antonio on IH 10 and Southwest from Austin Tx. The Host Hotel is The YO Ranch Resort Hotel, the best facility in the region. RV, Cabin Rentals and Tent camping is available conveniently nearby on the quiet secluded tree shaded riverbanks of The Guadalupe River. All arrangements with The Convention and Tourist Bureau have been handled. The region is warmly welcoming us with open arms again. Kerrville and Luckenbach absolutely "Get It" and love motorcycle groups.

    The three day Road Run Routes are exactly the same as we provided in 2010. Two days take us Southwest to Leakey TX where we ride the Three Twisted Sisters roads. These roads are generally devoid of traffic during the week, are very challenging to ride with all the elevation changes, twists, curves and long distance panoramic vista views. Day Three is a Northern Route through Historic Frederickburg TX to The Willow City Loop, World Famous for its wildflowers and back South through Luckenbach TX, made famous by Willie, Whalen and The Boys for a mid day B-B-Que and outdoor stage with recording artists playing daily.

    We have had a wetter than normal year this year so the native wildflowers, Bluebonnets, and Indian paint brushes should cover tens of thousands of acres at this time of year. Ask anyone who rode with us in 210 if it was not spectacular?

    The event concludes on Wednesday evening with a Banquet / Awards Ceremony at the Host Resort Hotel with enough door prizes to allow everyone to take something home to remember the trip by. The Cherokee Chapter will have a fully appointed, air conditioned, semi truck size shop trailer with all tools (standard, metric and Whitworth), air compressor, battery chargers, torch, welder and normal extra parts such as tires, tubes, batteries, coils, fuel lines, electrical wiring and connectors and other emergency use supplies. We want no one to miss a day of riding.

    Please visit www.CherokeeAMCA.org for all website, email and/or phone numbers information necessary for Road Run pre-registration, Host Hotel registration, RV, Cabin Rentals and Tent Camping and all other Points of Interest, Dining Guides etc... Additionally this year we will have day trip vans for the ladies whom do not ride and would rather shop, visit wineries or do spa trips. Yes... bring the ladies with guys... We will pamper them and allow your credit card to warm up also!

    For those of you in colder climates, this will be a great time to escape to the warmer, dry climate of the High Hills of the Beautiful Texas Hill Country to thaw out your bones and your crankcase prior to your normal riding weather back home. We promise all of you a truly great ride, a great event and great hospitality!

    With our Very successful Events, Denton Car Show in November, the December Christmas Meeting and Party, and now the great turn out we had at the Oklahoma 2 day Bike Show, and social dinners afterwards, Our Chapter Members are really enjoying these events. We now can expect a large number of Chapter Members to attend the Kerrville National Road Run, as well as many from all over the USA.

    There will be a number of Cannon Ball 3 Riders and Support crews honing their skills on this run, as well as our members bring out many wonderful Motorcycles for this event.

    Everyone of Jon Neuman's team members for the Road Run are going all out to make this one of the best ever held in Texas, or for that matter? Stay Tuned to newsletters and updates www.cherokeeamca.org Shelby, Membership / Events Director

      With our Texas National Road Run is just 2 weeks, Our Chapter Members are going all out to make this a very enjoyable Social Event in Beautiful Texas Hill Country. For those who have not made up your mind yet, what the heck, you might have fun in spite of it being in TEXAS in the Spring. We are still in a drought so the chance of rain is below average. There is a wide range of things planned each day, and for those that do not get enough riding in the Hill Country at the end of the week there is the Just Kickers Rally at the Turner Falls Area in Southern Oklahoma Hosted by one of our members, Kirk Sharp. www.cherokeeamca.org for details. Less than a week away. Bike's ready, I'm ready! the 10-day forecast looks promising. If you're in the Oklahoma/Texas
        or eastern New Mexico area and riding weather is starting late, its' not too late to join the festivities.

          Well, you guys that could have and did not come missed out! I think 158 riders, close to 200 bikes (since some brought one for each day...) The wild flowers were scarce since the extreme drought, but the roads were fantastic! (Google three sisters motorcycle ride) We basically did 2 of the 3. My 65 performed flawlessly, I'm more than pleased.
          More will come out & hopefully several will post pics.

            Fan-dang-tastic run, absolutely the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
            I saw Steve taking a 10 second break.....the ONLY one he took during the entire run.

                Dear Enthusiasts in the Sport;

                This past Mon / Tues / Wed, The Cherokee Chapter of the AMCA held their every three year Texas National Road Run. I just FedEx'ed another 300 or so pictures to our webmaster for addition to the 600+ now posted on 4 separate links.

                Take a minute and log onto www.CherokeeAMCA.org to view these photos and soon to be posted videos of this Epic Ride in The High Hills of Texas.
                Last count I have is that over 180 participants registered and the parking lot had well over 200 machines. The oldest machoine ridden was a 1919 HD twin as a shake down run for this years Cannonball. Bud Redmond was "the Most Mature Rider with the Highest IQ" at age 87 and he did not miss a mile on three days aboard his Nimbus. We had 8 or 9 Nimbi in a photo row. A similar row of "J" Harleys, one of the nicest rows of 36-41 Knucks I have every seen plus untold Post War Knucks in attendance. Numerous Cannonball bikes were also ridden. The event was dominated by late teens through late 40's machines with Post war Knucks through 60's models far outnumbered by earlier rides.

                Each day started and ended in the designated Vintrage Only Motorycle Parking lot in front of the Chapter Race Rig which also served as a shop, refreshment area (sodas, water, coffee and chips). A Group Photo of registrants and all motorycles was taken and will be posted soon. Every road run day we flooded the local gas stations, BBQ establishments, and eateries. The parking lot ended up being the place people all congregated and commiserated at. Three days of riding The Best of The Best Roads in Texas with endless vistas, panoramic views, and more twists and curves than one can imagine. Two dead batteries and two flat tires were all that occured in three days. Stanley Miller arrived at the end of Day Two with a "Dead Javelina Pig" bungeed to his panhead rear fender. He can explain that himself. The Awards Banquet was repleat with dimmed chandeliers, Texas Music, Prime Rib and all the fixins. Many awards were given and all attendees went home with a gift, an award, or a door prize.

                We wish to Thank All Atendees for treking to Texas from as far away as Idaho, The West Coat and the East Coast. We enjoyed y'all and hope y'all enjoyed the run as much as we enjoyed providing it.
