  • 841 generator/distributor - Wisconsin eng

I was told that the Wisconsin V4 engine used the exact same distributor/generator setup as the Indian 841.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Does anyone know where I can find a distributor/generator from an old Wisconsin V4?

I would like to have at least one spare so that I can swap out a unit that needs fixing if need be. I have the Jaguar mentality: you should have one to drive and one being fixed.

    George!

    Sorry for the tardy reply,

I have a Wisconsin 4 distributor that was given to me by IndianFrank sitting on the shelf.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with the 841 assembly, either.

Feel free to drop in if you are ever up my way, and bring the real thing for comparison,

I need to read these forum messages more often! With any luck I shall have my Indian 841 back from Pennsylvania in May. I'll bring it to your shop and we can see if the Wisconsin setup is right for my bike. It has been a while since I have been in Lacon, and it's about time to return. Do you ever go to the Springfield Mile? The Vintage Iron Riders club has a "Park & Display" area on the south end of the grandstands for vintage and antique motorcycles.

          Thanks Marty,

I guess I better declare that this one is still Frank's, although I am certain it is "negotiable".

Its a poor choice for my forever-stalled stroked 741 project anyway.

PS: Haven't talked to Frank in at least a week.
The stroked 741 project is negotiable too. (Just a motor, and a pile of non-Indian chassis. Two BSA trannies though!)
