  • generator id?

I have a generator which I assumed is a 32e, at least I rebuilt it as a 32e and every thing fit just as it is supposed too. However, I noticed that it doesn't have the flat relief area cast into the side of the drive end. Said generator fits my UL just fine. I'm just wondering what I have. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks. Ron

The flat spot didn't appear untill 1939 when the UL changed style of valve stem covers.

Yes, those darned judges have been docking me a quarter point for using those later generators on earlier bikes. It's one of a number of Harley parts where the part number was not changed because the later part fits earlier bikes. For instance the 1934 full pan seat was later given the 1925 part number because it was intended as a replacement for the earlier Mesinger seat.
