    YouTube - 1924 Harley Motorcycle - Running & Smoking from caimag.com

I was surprised at how easy I got it up and running after sitting for too many years. Check the oil, charge the battery, fresh gas and one shot of starter fluid and she lit up in a few kicks. After letting it warm up she continued to smoke for a while. but after a short ride the smoke thinned out a lot.

I am planning on riding this 85 year old Harley in the AMA Vintage Days parade celebrating the AMA's 85th anniversary. Wish me luck!

The Idle (after a brief ride) - Part 2

Here's another short video of my 1924 Harley JDCA after a short ride. The bike had been sitting for years and this was my first ride. I suspect the smoke was less as I burned off some of the excess in the sump.

I couldn't get footage of me riding as I was handling the video but will have some shot and will post it here of these days.

Yo Buzz - thanks for posting. My clothes smell from the fumes. Wish you would have let me take it for a ride though. :-) I would have enjoyed airing out the bike and my clothes a bit.

Sure thing Ray, next time I fire it up I'll let you hop on and go.

And a few people have been meaning to say something about how your clothes smell ;-)
