Date code on a "K" frame

I found this rolling chassis sitting out in the weeds where it had been sitting for many years. It was an old desert racer minus the engine. The date code on the frame is 3R. Is this a KR frame? I have never seen the letter "R" used in a date code. Only A-L.

I don't know if there's any connection, but original H-D literature shows that the KR line was given the following "Assembly Number"

16005-52R

The stock K model didn't have the "R" in its "Assembly Number," so it will be interesting to learn whether or not this frame is KR and possibly connected to the "R" tacked on to the end of the assembly number. This material doesn't mention frame numbers, only motor and assembly numbers.
