  • HD Judging question

I'm an Indian guy but have a friend that is looking to purchase a late 40's Panhead.
The engine cases (I'm told) have non matching belly numbers. Which I assume means that the right case has been changed at some point in it's life. My question is : If my friend buys this bike and brings to a meet to be judged, how many points will the judges ding him for the miss matched cases?
And assuming that the left case has the correct numbers for the year and model of the bike.

    Thanks for your help

Maybe Kevin will chime in but I have judged at 3 meets all 40's bikes and have never seen anyone check the belly numbers. As long as the replacement case is correct for the year your friend won't lose any points.

      HD judging question

if the cases are correct for the year, there will be no point deduction. BUT if they are the wrong year, then the problem is the bike MUST be disqualified(sorry). the only time the judges look at the belly numbers is if there is a question about the year being the same as the frame.
      hope this helps,
sorry for the late reply, was playing at Eustis and bike week
