I'm putting a temp. ign. switch on my WL using a look alike 12 volt coil,battery and switch. Question is my print for the original says pts go to the rear term of coil and battery green pos. to front. My coil is marked pos. on rear and neg on front and I hesitate to hook up any pos to a negative marked post. Won't the magic smoke come out? Is the rear coil term on an original bat. neg or pos/ Chris

Chris, connect the negative side to the points regardless of post position on coil. The coil will function either way but will rapidly burn the points if polarity is reversed. Robbie -

Hey robbie, thanks loads. Just knew the dumb things shouldn't go to the pos. Made no sense and my feeble old mind couldn't remember the basics. Thanks guy .Comment
