  • New Forum upgrade is coming

    Hi Folks:

I Know we have been limping through the last year with a version of our AMCA Community Forum that has not been able to perform up to our expectations. It is a common problem with computer related applications as they begin to end their life-cycle they start to have problems. vBulletin did in fact stop supporting our current version, a true indicator that trouble lie ahead with bugs and code problems that won't get fixed with updates. While we intended much earlier to go through the upgrade we put the forum as second in line behind the AMCA member and business web site because it too wasn't meeting our needs and had been planned well over a year ago for replacement. We thought we would be able to upgrade soon behind the web site but the unintended consequences of the pandemic delayed that as our forum master was consumed by his full time IT responsibilities. So our forum has increasingly experienced funky problems that affect reliability and performance and the member's user experience. I apologize that this has possibly caused members to lose confidence in this AMCA feature of membership.

It appears we will very soon go through an upgrade to the current vBulletin version in August 2020. I have always been one to promise little, but work hard to deliver a lot. With that thought I feel positive that we can get our new forum established, work the inevitable bugs out and then enjoy several years of productive use where we can as a community grow this networking, communication and information exchange.

I wanted to get word out so you feel like the AMCA is being responsive to members' needs. So please bear with us for a little while longer.

I always like to throw in some images to enjoy. These were taken at 2019 Chesapeake National Meet.

You are a good guy, Mike, and I know you'll work hard to make things right for us AMCA forum users. The fun thing about sitting at a keyboard is to criticize, and second guess everyone that comes within the crosshairs. People like you who do all the work, never get the credit they deserve so I'll say thank you in advance in lieu of saying something stupid in the future

HaHaHa - thanks Eric. Its always smart to add deposits to the relations bank account so you don't get overdrawn. Thanks for your comments.
