We make the earlier round head grease zerks with the sunken ball exactly like the 38-54 type, $3.00 each plus shipping.

Hello, I have both on my 1932 VL/1936 Harley, "button head" Alemite, and the "round head" zerks. I am just learning to work on it and looking for the grease tip adaptor to use on the "button head" Alemite fittings. Can anyone advise which tip to use and where to purchase the grease tip? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

The "round head" fittings did not come on your VL from the factory. They were probably added at some later point by someone who didn't have the correct tool to utilize them or perhaps they were the only ones to be found at that time. If you're going for correctness , the earlier Alemite fittings are what you're looking for. Hope this helps........Smitty

Check V-Twin, J&P, Cimarron Cycle, Old Dude Carl Olsen, Colony etc. They are readily available out there. I bought one years ago for my 3-VL's but forget where I got it. Kind of pricey for what you get but if you need you need it and I did.

Thank you all for the information. I will order the adaptor and a few Alemite fittings and begin to replace them.
