I sure miss my Gunk Hydro-Seal; Berryman's is a joke.

    Cotten,
Berryman sure is a joke now a days. Next time you drive by a marina, stop in and grab some of the outboard cleaner, I am sold on it.

I don't get out much these days, Ryan...

My local 'marina' is just a couple of blocks away, but its only a harbored boat launch on the river where I walk my labradane.
Even the restrooms are locked. (Washing hands forbidden by those who mandate the practice.)

Eight bucks plus seven to have it shipped would buy five gallons of vinegar at least. And that's got a million more uses.

I'll keep checking the dumpster at the marina, ya never know!

        Cotten,
A great way to remove rust is to soak it in a mixture of 5-6 parts water to 1 part molasses and sorghum. I can buy fermented molasses from the Amish for 2 bucks a gallon and mix it 3:1 of water and molasses.
This concoction works unbelievably well and works great in rusty tanks, but takes about a week to work.

          I've heard that before, Ryan!

After a week, it could turn to vinegar anyway.

I blame that on Drosophila melanogaster.

Oh no, you just reminded of all the college biology and also the good times. Yeah, their decay may add to the fermentation.

There's a time and place for everything, Folks!

Today it was toilet bowl cleaner, because its a lot friendlier and convenient than muriatic acid out of the jug.

Especially for just a few small parts.

They were pretty rough already, of course.

That works pretty well and worked even better before it came already diluted, even though I diluted anyway. CLR works great mixed 1:1 with water in the home made ultrasonic cleaner.

This stuff works https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I have started to avoid kerosene unless I can wear a respirator because I notice a chronic cough for about a week afterward. But there is still a roll for petroleum based solvents when it comes to degreasing. I especially like the blasting and degreasing of brake cleaner especially when I want stuff clean without residual. Sometimes I find Simple Green works well but have put it to a test on greasy dirt just mild dirty.

                    Super-Clean has its place, Mike...

But be real careful with it on polished aluminum.

                    Rinse it fastidiously.
