    Sadly, BoschZEV,..

That depends upon who asks them.

I always promote the AMCA forum when I can, and try to shame my friends who are AMCA members who don't use this forum. I have discovered that many of my AMCA friends prefer AMCA Facebook to this forum and I have yet to get a good reason for that preference. I know the search engine here is rather crappy, but try to find something from last year on Facebook. At least our forum has categories to give a searcher a starting point (which is why people should always pick the right category to post a thread). Like others here, I have tried to give the AMCA Facebook site a chance, and I do see interesting things there, but there doesn't seem to be any real depth to a topic, or questions. I always see the ubiquitous picture of a knucklehead, and then comments like; "bitchin', or bad-ass". The AMCA forum members take a longer view because most are in this as a life-long hobby (passion, obsession, religion, etc.).

If the CAIMAG Forum is gone, I dearly hope that those members come here and enrich the AMCA Forum with their vast knowledge, and experience. Unfortunately, many of those people left the AMCA with anger, and resentment over AMCA upper management screw-ups from a decade ago. The challenge for the AMCA is to make this forum a welcoming place again. First, and foremost will be to make registering, and signing in painless, and easy for AMCA members. That was a royal P.I.T.A. earlier this year.

Do you really think shaming works, Eric?

        Did it?

        Or turn them off completely.

I have never preemptively replied to any of your posts and I have asked you repeatedly to ignore my posts. Is it impossible for you to just move on? Troll someone else.

            I'm so shamed.

A functional search function would not only facilitate and encourage participation, it would actually help preserve the wisdom already upon this forum.

If you can't access it, it is for all practical purposes, lost.

This forum is great but there are other forums which could use the traffic and knowledge such as http://forum.sscycle.com/ where there are a lot of vintage bike owners, along with modified scoots as well. I do not see that forum going away to soon.

                Hope not Pa!

I only joined Sept. 30, 1999. (It had to be earlier than that.) Tragically, all of the two previous incarnations of Flathead Power are lost.

Its search function doesn't have the bells and whistles this format has, but its a lot more accurate.

Mike! What is the format for this forum called, and is there any chance the proprietor can improve things?

I am not trying to get inbetween anyone's spat, but arguing, name calling and getting nasty on the public forum does not look very welcoming for recruitment, it just does not not look good on our part.

                    Yes Fletcher!

I'm all for ironic sarcasm when it illustrates a point.

Even if this forum's search function was adequate, what good if externally photo-hosted pics eventually disappear, as illustrated by my thumbnail.
(Click on it and it should enlarge, I think. Wish I could get the pics to stick "in line" with the text like other folks.)

Even though this format's search function is feeble, its independent photo attachment function is fantastic (although jumping through the hoops takes practice). Best of all,.... Its free!

PS: Yes Ryan, we should all try to be more civil. That makes arguments much more constructive.

It sure looks like Buzz has left the building, just like Elvis. I like hydra-glide.com Primarily a Harley site but rich with information, check the Knowledge base tab!

Well, I know I'm going to miss the CAIMAG forum. I learned a lot from a lot of really nice people there. I've actually met a couple of guys at meets after having "talked" to them on the forum. I can't imagine how many hours I spent looking at Mr. Big's and Sidecar's pictures! It was always a cure for the blues. Or insomnia. I look a lot at this forum now, but I guess I'll be looking a lot more in the future. I hope all the good folks from the old forum follow over here.

i hope all is well with Buzz. i've not heard anything from him, he seems to have disappeared. or from any of the super moderators. would have been nice to had a heads up from him or one of the super moderators. hopefully they saved all the wonderful pictures of sidecars "old shops" and the other thread with all the wonderful vintage pictures.

On the 15th of this month "Mr Big" posted on the AMCA Facebook site - "Just FYI to any members of the forum at CAIMag.com that it is currently offline as a casualty of the American Iron magazine shut down. We are working with Buzz to see about the possibility of the members taking it over. Rob Wolf has graciously agreed to be the point man on this endeavor".

                            There's still a chance...
