  • Rear brake anchor repair

The rear brake anchor on my 47 UL has worn and now rocks in the frame slot. As the rear brake is much the same on a UL as a knuck I have posted the same question on that forum page.

The anchor and frame are probably both worn and just replacing the backing plate is unlikely to resolve the issue. Its also a problem that is just going to get worse if not fixed.

I plan to get a dab of weld put on the anchor and then grind it back to fit snugly in the frame again.

I guess that I am not the first to have this problem and it would be useful to hear from anybody who had come across this issue and fixed it.

    Thanks

    Martin

Not just "much the same" but in fact identical as are all the components of the machine except the engine assembly , fuel tanks, exhaust headers, and oil lines. All running gear is shared on BTs whether SV or OHV.
Your thoughts as to a fix are standard procedure, however if the axle is properly tightened there should be no rock.
