  • Fork rocker grease fittings

I need to fit a new set of fork rockers grease fittings, but am not sure what type is correct. I have a 29JD that is currently fitted with 9/32"-32 threads that will take the grease cups. Most pictures I have seen of the 29's had the Alemite fittings installed. These are 5/16"-32 thread.
Is there a correct fitting for 29, or are they both used?
    Cheers,
    Mick

I believe you have earlier rockers as I believe '29's had Alemites not grease cups.

I had thought of that and i think you are right.
I went through some parts books and it looks like up to 1923, they used grease cups.
My confusion was that the cups are advertised to fit up to 29, most likely wrong,
      Thanks

What they fit and what is correct for a restoration are two different things.

          I agree Chris.
I have held off buying the grease cups because it didn't ring true, although now I need to get later rockers.

The factory parts books show the parts they are selling that year. If a newer design part fits an earlier model it is listed as the part for that application. Always use the same year parts book as your machine.

I usually do, and they state the Alemite fittings. Thats what held me back.
The grease cups advertised as up to 29 are wrong.
