  • engine paint for Duoglide

    Hello All,

Want to verify with the experts. 1964 Duoglide, heads are natural finish while cylinders, oil pump and lifter blocks are silver? Any recommendation on rattle can silver?

    Thank You,
    Doc Wood

i don't know what color silver, but once you know the color, an automotive paint store can match the silver and put hardener in a separate compartment in a rattle can. With hardener the paint will not run off when gas or oil gets on it. as long as you don't activate the hardener, the paint is good until you activate the hardener. once the hardener is activated, the paint in the can is good for use for approximately 8 hours.

Ditto! This is the paint that I have used for well over 30 years. Good stuff! But H-D is pretty proud of it for the price they sell it for.

Thank You! Local dealerships are closed until further notice but I'll find elsewhere.

PS: Its been a few years, but I found the local farm supplys (still open!) rattle-cans were every bit as durable. They baked well, and probably contracted from the same paint manufacturer.
            PPS: I hate paint.

Mr. Cotton, Their busy now making ventilators in orange and black with an embossed bar and shield. Sorry, not trying to make light of a bad situation. We just lost a member back east Friday that I rode several road runs with to this evil mess and I will miss him. He WAS essential!
