  • Harley Boot Guard

I have a boot guard ( 11500-38 ) that I've owned for 35 years. I've always thought that it was OEM. I had it replated in the late 1980's. Originally the guard was chromed and the mounting bracket and hardware were Parkerized and the rivets were natural. Now I see that someone has the same boot guard ( with the H D drilled or punched in it ) for sale on Ebay. His Ebay name is righteousjoe. ( I still can't figure out the copy and paste deal ). His has no rivets and the mounting bracket is spot welded to it like the repops that came out around 10 years ago. Now I wonder if mine is some old repo or OEM ?

I have an old original around here, but I don't recall it having any rivets. I'd go and look but it's snowing.

Colony has reproduced them. I believe that your rivets are a home repair.

            Prayers your way Rich.

Almost all of my auctions start at 99 cents. I have been surprised a few times when the item went for over $1000.00.
