  • Allegheny Chapter Road Run

Thanks to all who worked to make for another great Road Run by this chapter. Weather looked ominous but turned out great albeit a bit windy and chilly but good despite those. Copious amounts of food great rides and good friends made for a great time.

Thanks Tom - We were very happy with how things turned out and hope that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.
Considering the rainy weather this area has had and Sunday's forecast of 80-100% rain for most of day Monday, it was miracle waking up in the morning for Day 1's ride to see forecast had changed and rain would hold off until late afternoon/evening! Only real downside was the bike show and live band on the diamond in Ligonier did get rained out at end of day. Then Day 2 and 3 had no rain in forecast and was great for riding. I gained at least 5lbs from all the food. Only a couple bikes on the sweep trailer each day so not too bad considering we had around 150 bikes registered. And thankfully no accidents/injuries that I am aware of.

Hey Rollo - Thanks for coming to our Road Run with your group, glad that you enjoyed the run. I wish that I could have done some miles with you, but we brought up the back of the pack looking for lost riders and breakdowns. Next time your in the area I'll give you a private tour of the Rolling Rock Museum.

Todd thanks for posting pics and hosting this gig. You guys always have great runs and this time with the abundance of food it was over the top. This is what Rick was talking about in giving the customer good value for their dollars. The Flight 93 Memorial was especially moving and emotional to a lot of us. Not sure when I'll be up that way again but I will call you about the Rolling Rock tour. As I said before I think everyone had a great tiem and I know those in our group sure did. Congrats to you Richard and all those who put this on! Good job! Rick and Janet Allen posted a bunch of stuff on Instagram. I don't do any social media but those that do can check it out.

Just wanted to say thank-you to everybody that put this together, I really enjoyed it. Met many new friends & was able to get to know people at the run & in the evening hours. A great bunch of folks, great food & drink, excellent riding. My 1961 DUO-GLIDE ran like a Trooper some 1100 miles total with ride down & back. Tony Conley AMCA #1528
