Sounds like you're making progress on your Super-X, Louie. Tough bike to do, but worth the effort.

                Louie,

Yesterday i sent you a PM with a lead for a front fender. Contact me if that didn't go through.

Also tried to post this message but for some reason it didn't work. So...

Here is an option for fenders, Vintage Steel in Australia: http://www.vintagesteel.com.au/ They roll fenders for a varitey of motorcycles. I had them make 2 blanks for 1920 Excelsior (Same as Deluxe) and an Indian sidecar fender. Very nice work indeed, but not cheap. They list a front fender for Super X, complete with skirt: http://www.vintagesteel.com.au/mudgu...super-x-fender

If you can get a measurement on the rear fender I would suspect that it is the same cross section and radius as the front but much longer. If so, they can roll a blank for you and you can fit it to the bike. The ideal thing would be to have an original to borrow as a pattern for the braces and holes as well as any cutouts that were made. It's an arduous process, but in the end you would have two new fenders.

                Good Luck!

Gene, I replied to your PM last night. I got a nice front but no rear fender, thanks for the fender link, I think they need to make a batch of rears! I also need a mag, I got a nice Splitdorf 42 degree for sale or trade.

                    Louie,

Contact them at Vintage steel. They may have rears in the works, but if not, they will make them for you if you can give details. I took an original Princess sidecar fender, laid it out on paper and traced it for the radius, other dimensions and tracings as needed. Mailed that to them and they made a perfect replacement from there. So if you can borrow an original, or get someone to trace it for you, you're in business.

All you need to make that mag correct for your Super X is a different cam, 45 degree, different id tags (S-2 1613) for the magnet cover and a slight modification to the advance lever hole (increase id to .257"). Other than that, they are exactly the same! Here is a link to Splitdorf mag id sheet from my web site: http://www.splitdorfreg.com/Splitdor...tdorf-Apps.htm

Contact Kent Thompson, he may be able to help with a cam etc.

                    Gene.

Funny you ask...it's a $5 ammo can that was close in height and width and I shortened it a few inches, has hinged top, seems to work OK for now....
