    Here is the insides...looks pretty good for 62 year old that has been sitting in an exposed shed for the last 20+ years, just a bit of refurbishment and cleaning needed.

          Mine has rubber boots on the forks, the previous owner said they were original. Based on your restoration can you tell me if it was an option? He said in 1955 the dealer offered him the newer, sportier KHK motor and he installed it, which is what mine has in it. Eventually I may want to find a 53 K motor or a 55 KHK frame. But for now I am restoring the KHK motor to original with the exception of adding a magneto, and the body to a 53 Standard. Hurts the value, but it will still be a fun old ride.

            The rubber fork gaiters started in '54. '52 and '53 models had the cowbells on them.
