Every Springfield Mile race (Sundays on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends), Vintage Iron Riders hosts an invitational Park & Display for vintage and older motorcycles. This is essentially and extemporaneous, open air, "pot luck" museum that changes each race. There is no cost to participants or to viewers. For a real hoot, you can spend $10 over your race ticket and ride on the track of the "World's Fastest Mile."
Motorcycles from as far away as Texas and Florida have been brought to this event. If you are looking for something to do right after the Davenport Swap Meet, run on down to the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL and check us out. It would be great if you brought an interesting bike to display, but we would be glad just to see you.
PS: We are located just south of the grandstand.
