    Prices are also in shillings, but that is a lot of American bikes lined up for England. Maybe Australia before the 1966 introduction of the Australian dollar?

    Was that first pic in post #5231 taken somewhere in England?. The words Cycle 'Tyres' painted on the wall would seem to indicate anyway. And those two guys at the far end have the same jackets that Dick Van Dyke wore in Mary Poppins.

    When I first started going to Bike Week in Daytona in the '70s it had an 'outlaw' presence that wasn't always pleasant However, it did give the event an edge that has now been replaced with posers, and ding-bats. Looking at the picture that JoJo posted makes you wish you had been part of that scene where it was about real motorcycling and escaping the cold end of a Northern winter.

    You have to wonder, did the motorcyclists also complain about too many people attending the meet? Everything is relative, maybe 5 years before that picture attendance was less and more enjoyable. Imagine telling those people that one day there would be 400K +.
