  • Correct Saddles for 1917 & 1923 Indians??

Hello to all.. What saddles would be original equipment and considered correct by AMCA judges for a 1917 Indian powerplus and a 1923 Indian Standard(powerplus). We have all seen these bikes with seats ranging from early open nosed troxels to half pan messinger 2 & 3s. Lots of brands and sizes were offered to owners but I am sure some are considered "more correct" than others. Thanks ... indianmotocycle@gmail.com

    Hi

A couple of years back I had my original 1917 Powerplus saddle re-covered by Howard Heilman. Howard told me the saddle was a "Troxel Truform." The 1917 Indian sales catalog calls it an "Indian Troxel." My saddle certainly looks the same as the one in the sales catalog.

For the 1924 Indian Standard, the sales catalog quotes "Mesinger air cushion saddle with auxiliary spring seat post." Assume this would be similar for the 1923?
