A fellow amc member said to me that the club approves of Palmers book as a source to follow for restorations. So if one restores there HD to palmers spec will that source hold up in the judging arena? I know the source is not 100% correct.Kval I hope you chime in on this one also.

we will use the book up to the point of known incorrect information. check with one of our good Harley judges when in doubt. they have gained a wealth of knowledge over the years and are more then willing to share it.

There are a lot of errors in Bruce's book. The publisher refuses to correct them. Also a lot of new things were learned since its publication. If and when it goes out of print Bruce will get the rights to his book back. At that time it will be corrected, brought up to date, and search for a new publisher.

is Mr Palmer a member here if not should we make him an honorary member his contributions would be a valuable asset to our organization. And our feed back would make a great asset to him on his next edition

I second the honorary forum membership of Bruce. Don't look for him on here to often though. He doesn't have much spare time available. My observations of him, saw bike bike bike. He is always into bikes. His published materials have been the greatest help to me. Not only is Bruce an expert in his field, he is an awesome individual to boot. Wish I could plug a usb cord between his and my head. I would love to download all of the knowledge he has stored in his. And Bruce as a person ???? Top Knotch !

Speaking of knowledgable people, Mr. Chris Haynes sits on the same list as Mr. Palmer, for me. And as a person ???? DITTO Top Knotch !!

I took the liberty to embarress these two fine gentleman folks. They only feel embarressment because they are Humble individuals. They deserve high recognition, regardless. I would pick on the longer version of my respect list people, but I'll get away with it with these to Bros'. One day, I will post my respect list. Many you all know. many you don't. No.......it ain't the few beers which did the talkin. Paps

I gave to STRONGLY agree with Paps and I could not say it any better. It is indeed RARE in this hobby to find " experts" that neither consider themselves as such nor would agree or accept the title!!!! Try getting into a 3 way conversation with the 2 of them by speaker phone--The phone line tends to melt with all the knowledge, if you try to keep up!!!!!----Michael

The only changes to Bruce's book since the price hike to $29.95 was a new cover and a higher price.
