  • WL wiring diagram

I am searching for a wiring diagram for a WL. At this point all I have found are WLAs or unreadable WL pictoral schematics. I would prefer to see a logic schematic on a WL which would aid troubleshooting with a meter.

Have you had any luck finding the wiring diagram? I have a 46 I am redoing, and will be needing the same thing in a few months. I would be grateful for any advise you can throw my way. The job of resurrecting my bike will soon be here and since this is my first restoration project, I am a little nervous about getting it all back together properly. Later.

I use the attached wiring diagram that is published in J.B. Nicholsons series of books called "MODERN MOTORCYCLE MECHANICS".
Any of the editions #1 to 7 have it in and the page that goes along with it has the key to the numbers in the diagram

      Hope this helps.

          Hi Tom,
I got the wiring diagram, as well as the sign up sheet for your chapter. Thank you. They will both come in very handy. See you soon maybe. Brian

            wiring diagram

            Hello,

I am currently pretty puzzeled with a problem on my 45wl.
Just do not get any charge amps (installed new gen+reg) but the gen light is on all the time.

I really could use a 45 wl wiring diagram but I only have the wla diagram.

Could you do me the favour and send me the wl diagram ?

            I really appreciated your help.

            Regards

            Oliver

Hey guys, new member here and I too would really appreciate a wiring diagram for a WL (1950). I have the same WLA diagrams that are everywhere and one that came with my harness that has way too many front and rear terminal block connections. I would've copied the existing wiring but it's been quite ******ed up over the years. Many thanks for any help.

                  Hey Mick,
Glad to hear you got the diagram you needed. I got mine from the garage if anyone else needs it, just give me a fax number and I can fax it to you. It is a clean diagram for civilian WL 's.
I just got my WL (1946) going for the season. It started on the 3rd kick after not running for 6 months. I got a 47 chief recently which has robbed my attention from the WL.
Here's to a great riding season !!!! Brian.

                    45 restoration manual

Hi, I just wanted to let you 45 folks know that Harbor Vintage has a rather comprehensive manual for sale. I just picked one up at Oley. It beats anything I have seen available on them. I think it was $75.00 and from what I can tell it is well worth it. I haven't read it thoroughly but it has great detail in the illustrations and text as well. No, I don't work for Dave. I just thought it would be nice to spread the word. Denise

OK - I hope you loooogans appreciate this. Via tommo > me > you.

                        WL wiring diagram 1937-54.

I just found out my neighbors dad was a sargent major of a panzer division. He's long dead now. Batting for the wrong team. He got ****ed in with only two months of service left to complete of his year service to get out of the country. But interesting to hear stories of where the history books stop. The Americans "being clever" did lay the high tension hydro cables across the road one night. Thus -causing the leed tank to glow red. This guy was in ALOT of battles (ie. Monte Casino, N. France)- he did 7yrs. Mighty grewsome trying to determine how many of grandfathers buddies he probably killed. And they killed alot. Conviently just before surrendering and completely out of ammo.

I'm very thankful for everyone that has served. On the right team.
