  • Kick-Starting

When my stock 74" Pan would mis-fire, I used to turn the key off, and kick it through a couple of times, then get it on a compression stroke way down at 7 o'clock, then turn the ignition switch on and kick it through; until one day I figured out, to leave the key on and kick the motor over in increments until I found a (low-down) compression stroke, and ignore the kick-backs if any were to occur while doing so (with the ignition being "ON"). The result was, that the motor rarely ever kicked backed on me while doing this, and the motor will always start without ever turning the ignition switch off and my life is better now.
