  • copper?

I have some old parts(forks, stand etc...) that are covered with copper(possibly by former owner in order to chrome them), what is the best way to remove it?

Well, no one else has replied so I'll take a crack and say- light acid bath at the chrome shop then paint over it. Personally I'd just TSP then paint if its not super thick. Some very old stuff was repaired with lead fill. Hard to see until after the high heat at the powdercoat stage. When you get a droppy blob hanging out of a pipe. I say this because the copper may be hideing something?

    Anyone else?
