  • Hello from Orange County California!

Hello everyone, my name is Mitchell Skeene and I live in Yorba Linda, California. I am 21 years old and am attending Mount San Antonio College and studying aeronautics. I am a student pilot and working on earning my private pilot license. I fell in love with motorcycles at an early age thanks to my grandfather. In recent years I have become very interested in vintage American motorcycles and enjoy learning about them. A few years ago I got the chance to visit Wheels Through Time and after seeing the museum I officially got the bug. Recently I got the opportunity to buy a 1928 Harley JD bottom end and now I am the proud owner of it. I would like to build the motor and hopefully one day have a complete bike! Just wanted to say hi to everyone and I am eager to become educated on antique motorcycles. Thank you!

This is the expensive way to build a bike, But it can be done.
This Friday and Saturday are the dates for the Fort Sutter Chapter's swap meet and judging in Dixon, CA. I am headed there tomorrow as sellers come early and that is when ya find the goodies.

M.S., Welcome! I've built a '47 knucklehead before with just an oil pump to start with. It can be done. At least J model parts are fairly plentiful. Dixon is the place for West Coast antique motorheads. Regards, Rich
