  • Fork Plunger and Plunger Coupling Stud

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me what holds the Spring Fork Plungers to the Plunger Coupling stud. Each one moves out about 1/8" from each other, but will not come apart. I've not seen one separated, so I don't know what's inside. Are they threaded? Why did they expose the coupling stud, and why is there a small hole in it.

I don't want to just start hammering on things.

    Thanks!

One side of the stud holding them together has a RH thread and the other side has a LH thread. Put a steel pin (a small drill or Alan wrench will do) into the hole in the stud where you have it circled on your picture and rotate the stud. Depending on which way you turn the stud the sliders will either move closer to each other or farther apart eventually coming loose.
