  • AGM Replacement to 66007-84 Battery

Has anyone found a suitable replacement AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat or Sealed type) battery for H-D p/n 66007-84 (12V 32Ahr) battery? I'd like to get away from the dry cell battery.
    Thanks,
    William

Thanks. I found the OEM web link which provides more specs than the batterystuff.com website. Only real difference I see the Amp Hour rating. (OEM @ 32Ah and Scorpion @ 28Ah).

            William,
Battery came today, exactly the same size as OEM, fit in perfect and the cover goes on with no issues.
Now need to run it and see how it works out, no more checking fluid level...

Industry standard for battery ratings is AH or Ampere Hours. A 32 AH battery is supposed to sustain a 32 amp discharge rate for 1 hour and maintain a terminal voltage of 12 volts. A 28 AH battery is supposed to sustain a 28 amp discharge rate for 1 hour and maintain a terminal voltage of 12 volts. If the motorcycle came with a 32 AH battery from the factory it is best to replace it with one of the same AH rating. The charging system is designed for a 32 AH battery including the alternator/generator and voltage regulator.
You might get away with a lower AH rated battery for the motorcycle, however with the charging rate of the motorcycle being higher it could very well have an effect on the longevity of the battery or worse. I would certainly keep and eye on the sealed battery and watch for signs of overcharging most obvious sign would be a bulging of the case.
