  • Luke Walker

Its hard to report that Luke has passed away in a work shop accident on July 12. Three years ago I reported Luke was severely injured after getting t-boned by a car. He lost his leg, and had brain damage, but was fighting and recovering. Walking on his prosthetic leg he was out to the meets to see old friends. After the struggle and the wins, Luke had been back into the workshop doing painting and odds and ends.

Somehow, there was a fire and the smoke got the fire department to the shop. After putting out the fire, they discovered Luke on the floor. It is not yet known exactly the circumstances of the accident and fire. All we know is we have lost Luke Walker.

Luke was internationally known for his craftsmanship having built and restored homes, boats, airplanes, tractors and motorcycles.

Luke leaves his wide Bess and daughter Jacqueline.

The world has lost a great one.

There is a chance to pay respects:

Visiting hours are Monday, July 18 from 4- 7 pm at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI.

A burial service will be held Tuesday, July 19 at 11 am at the Middletown Four Corners Cemetery at Wyatt and Turner Roads.
