  • Which generator

Hi again- still eager in determining parts and where they belong.

    Is this a magdyno?- sits on a 1918 J

Looks like a mag dyno to me, maybe Bosch? Certainly not a Remy generator / ignition set up and certainly not an H-D generator. Not sure about H-D but many Indians from the twenties were shipped to Europe without electrics. Once there, Bosch electrics were installed.

Gene is correct. From the look of the circuit breaker cam ring, it seems to be a Bosch.
A VERY VERY low VIN 1918 electric model (VIN starts with an L) would still be fitted with a Remy 250 generator. After that it would be a Remy model A.
Is your bike actually a J or is it an F?

Hi- picture taken from a 1918 engine display nearby- still searching for a Remy but everytime I find an early electric they are converted to magneto ignition. I had never seen this generator (pictured) before but It's a Bosch. I guess these were not available in1916.

Myself i have two L engines from 1916- but only one frame
