  • 1930 Chief

I have a 1930 Chief project with lots of missing parts. If I'm going to restore this thing, I'm pretty much starting from zero in knowledge. I've noticed that '32 was a big change year & that seems to be where you see parts starting to be available. Does anyone have parts & service manuals for 1930 Chiefs? I would consider swapping this for a complete project of some sort, but this one would sure look great restored. I'm a metalshaper, so I could swap services, too. Mike (Waco, TX)

Your best source for early chief parts is Kent Thompson in N.H. His phone # is: 603-585-6933. He does not do email, only phone and snail mail.

Also here is a link to Gary Wright's blog on his 30 chief build for the upcoming cannonball:

He bought a 30 chief "kit" from Kent and is doing a great job with it, GO TEAM GW!

Thanks for the leads, Gene. I'll follow up right away. I'm just about finished with a Harley 42WLA & looking forward to starting on the Indian. -Mike
