My 1940 SS right hand shifter is very stiff(already lubed/adjusted all the joints) and I have been looking for the detent to adjust it. I have looked all over what I can see of the tranny and can't find it. In Greer's parts drawings it looks like it is on the very back of tranny facing the rear tire but I can't see anything or any way to access the rear side. Can anyone shed any insight on my issue? Thanks, Bob

Detent ball is on the front of the tranny squeezed in between the tranny and the frame. Tough spot to adjust it without removing the tranny but it can be done.

Thanks! I am going to lay the bike down to try and access it.
