  • quick question on linkert

Is Linkert a brand/company that made original parts for Indians? Or are they a newer company that makes repo parts? Or when I see someone has a Linkert carburetor for sale, it's not a brand at all?

Langsenkamp & Linkert was a carburetor manufacturer that supplied both Indian and H-D with commissioned models for their motorcycles.
The name is commonly shortened to just "Linkert".

There are dozens and dozens of sources of modern replacement parts, covering the entire spectrum of quality and accuracy.

Indian models are designated by the year the model was introduced, and its application. (For instance, the M344 was production for Chiefs from 1944 through 1948.)
