  • Bardstown, ky - national road run - may 19-21, 2014

    Hey Guys,

Just saw this section of the forum and wanted to post news of our AMCA(R) National Road Run to be held in Bardstown, KY May 19-21, 2014. Festivities will begin Sunday evening, May 18, as folks arrive for the fun.

Planning for this run began back in December, and is well underway as we intend to make this event the best and most talked about road run ever. There are two adjacent lodging facilities.
    1. The Best Western General Nelson (the primary event lodging facility), and
    2. the Old Kentucky Home Motel (directly across the street, clean, simple, and less $ too).
... are both reserved under the group name "Bluegrass AMCA." As with all road runs, lodging is not included in the ride cost and riders are responsible for their own lodging expenses.

If you've made it this far on the internet to read this, then you'll no doubt find out why Bardstown was named the" Most Beautiful Small Town in America" by USA Today in 2012. You'll also find that Abraham Lincoln was born and raised not far from here, father of American music Stephen Foster has his own musical at the Old KY Home State Park, and Kentucky's heritage of fine Bourbon whiskey is centered in Bardstown. We don't yet have nailed down how much fun will be packed into three days, but I can say the riding will be easy, the stops plenty, and the experience will be memorable.

We have our own website, bluegrassamca.org, where information will be posted as we get organized. Hope to see you there!

2014 Bluegrass Chapter National Road Rud

    Hi,

Details of the Road Run can be found at http://www.bluegrassamca.org/ where there is a page dedicated to the event, where people can register, and where updates will be posted. We now have registration online, and we can accept cash/check/debit/credit/bank transfer as forms of payment.

Registrations are not limited for this event. We are encouraging everyone to "pre-register" ahead of time, as this will allow us to plan, order shirts, arrange tours and meals, and the first 100 registered "Riders" will receive a free license topper we're having made up special for this occasion. As of this update, half of the toppers are gone, and they're going fast. These are a nice cast aluminum piece for your ride, and we've spared no expense on the quality. Pictures should go up on the website soon. We can certainly accommodate late arrivals that want to participate at the published daily rates, and we will be able to accept all forms of payment at the event.

    Cheers,

    -Brian
