  • How do I ascertain fair market value?

I have four older Japanese two stroke motorcycles. Only one is "AMCA legal". I need to sell them but I do not know what price to ask. I have not been able to find examples on E-Bay or Craigs List. Where do I go?

What years, and makes Ken ? When it comes to appraisals of antique motorcycles, I don't consider an "expert's" opinion to be of much value. I believe that careful observation of ebay, and noting the prices for bikes similar to your's is going to be the real world value of those motorcycles. Of course, there is also condition, originality, genuine part content, how well it runs, and the most elusive quality of all; Do people want it? If you can post pictures, I think you could get some good information, and advice.....And maybe a few offers.

I posted this Craigs Listing last Saturday.

Most responses are asking me for a price.

Thanks for the pictures Ken. I understand your situation. It's unfortunate; that buying is so much more fun than selling. I'm out of my league on those bikes but as time goes on, I find myself getting more interested in motorcycles from Japan.

Go to the common auction sites and look at the published results. Lots of later model Japanese stuff has changed hands in the last few years.
