  • Single Wheeled Trailers

Chris, they have been running these trailers for years in Europe, the web site lists at least a dozen makes for motorcycles. Most of the trailers are small, the old ad for the LARGE trailer Does look dangerous to ride.......

Looks dangerous to me. But never mind as I only pulled trailers for a living for 48 years.

And tell us, how many of those years were you pulling one-wheeled trailers, Chris?

They pivot on the back of the bike in only in the vertical plane, and the trailer wheel free-casters. In motion, gyroscopic forces of the wheel hold you up just like the wheels of the bike. What's not to love? I would like a center stand or ride-off stand to park it upright, and capacity is limited, and probably should be carried low, but I would love to drive one.

These guys build modern ones. I've seen them on BMWs, Sport bikes, etc.

I just put those on because Louie showed a tralette brochure. They have nothing to do with single wheel trailers, just like Chris’s assumption that single wheel trailers look dangerous having never pulled one himself. Sorry to offend you although I made sure I only showed one wheel at a time.

I followed this guy for a stretch in Vancouver traffic. He managed the rig quite well.....
